On this activity we are going to install Oracle 26ai on premises (on a virtualbox server)

Create direcories and unzip software

[oracle@olinux8 ~]$ mkdir -p /u01/app/oracle/product/26ai/db_home1

[oracle@olinux8 ~]$ cd /u01/app/oracle/product/26ai/db_home1
[oracle@olinux8 db_home1]$ unzip -q LINUX.X64_2326100_db_home.zip

We are going to use this response file:

[oracle@olinux8 db_home1]$ cat /u01/app/oracle/product/26ai/db_home1/install/response/db_install_26ai.rsp

Run Install:

[oracle@olinux8 db_home1]$ /u01/app/oracle/product/26ai/db_home1/runInstaller -ignorePrereq -waitforcompletion -silent -responseFile /u01/app/oracle/product/26ai/db_home1/install/response/db_install_26ai.rsp
Launching Oracle AI Database Setup Wizard...

The response file for this session can be found at:
 /u01/app/oracle/product/26ai/db_home1/install/response/db_2026-02-11_01-25-23PM.rsp

You can find the log of this install session at:
 /u01/app/oraInventory/logs/InstallActions2026-02-11_01-25-23PM/installActions2026-02-11_01-25-23PM.log

As a root user, run the following script(s):
	1. /u01/app/oracle/product/26ai/db_home1/root.sh

Run /u01/app/oracle/product/26ai/db_home1/root.sh on the following nodes:
[olinux8]


Successfully Setup Software.
[oracle@olinux8 db_home1]$

ROOT SCRIPT:

[root@olinux8 ~]# /u01/app/oracle/product/26ai/db_home1/root.sh
Check /u01/app/oracle/product/26ai/db_home1/install/root_olinux8_2026-02-11_13-33-47-719204364.log for the output of root script
[root@olinux8 ~]#

Check logs for errors and done!

On every new install, I like to add en “dummy” entry on /etc/oratab for an easy env load, but this is just me.

[oracle@olinux8 ~]$ . oraenv
ORACLE_SID = [oracle] ? dummy
The Oracle base has been set to /u01/app/oracle
[oracle@olinux8 ~]$ $ORACLE_HOME/OPatch/opatch lspatches
38743688;OCW RELEASE UPDATE 23.26.1.0.0 (GOLD IMAGE) (38743688) Gold Image
38743669;Database Release Update : 23.26.1.0.0 (38743669) Gold Image

OPatch succeeded.
